@perrone1 Tony, I have "curb feelers" on my 1955 Imperial to protect the wide white walls and the Kelsey Hayes wire wheels.
My Infiniti has the accident avoidance software, which will apply the brakes if it senses you're too close to something...the problem is I can't make ballzy moves because the car slows down when I want it to go faster.
Mine allows the avoidance to be on or off, warning with or without braking. I can set for short, medium or longer distances. I can turn on or off, the lane departure feature. It nudges the steering wheel if you go over the solid line but does not slow the vehicle any. Pretty intuitive; the only thing I had to defeat, so far, is the auto stop/start feature.
Mine is the same Tony. I found the auto start/stop feature extremely annoying and turn it off.
@jack-dodds +1. This was a tough decision because I like them both.
My Blazer has a button to turn the start/stop feature off. But you must press the button each time you start the car. Our Terrain has no such button. As far as I can tell, the only way to defeat the system is to add an aftermarket device.

Sheesh, I would turn off or disable that start/stop "feature" right away !

That's what I've done as well John. But before I did, I realized that it does not shut off while in manual mode. As I saw that I was coming to a stop, I merely put the console shifter into manual. The car gears down until stopped, does NOT shut off and I can shift back into auto and get ready to drive away. With the bypass, however, it is a standard automatic.
Given the option, I'm keeping the avoidance system enabled and backed off from the ballzy moves.
