I voted Oldsmobile because I like its detailing, especially the rear fenders. But it wasn't an easy vote.

Tough choice, slight edge to the Olds.  👀. Very sharp in black and white. 👍

Mercury, the car I would have bought in '54. Loved '54 - 56 Mercurys. Didn't care for Olds until the '57, when I disliked the Mercury.

I like both cars very much but prefer the sleeker styling of the Mercury.  The '53 is my favorite Mercury of its decade and the '54 is very close in appearance.

OUCH!  For the second day in a row, I vote a rare TIE.

I like the Mercury's incredible taillights and grill.  And of course I love the Oldsmobile for its great "crying" grill, its bullet taillights, the "can't take my eyes off of it dashboard", and because it's an Oldsmobile

Well John I suppose you're sitting there laughing at us again. A vary tough decision but I picked the Olds by the slightest margin. Tomorrow it might be the Mercury.

Mercury looks considerably more modern, styling-wise. Olds still had that high, bulbous hoodline.

Bob, LOL...yes this one is tough. You and I and a few of us here have the advantage since we experienced these cars live and in person.  As pretty as the Mercury may be, when seen close up there is little question how much nicer (fit and finish) the Oldsmobile is. Yes, the Oldsmobile gets my vote too.

@sizedoesmatter I owned a '53 Ford and a '55 Olds 88 and much preferred the Ford driving/handling experience.
