Big Daddy Chrysler over the Junior; DeSoto this time John.

Although I much prefer the '55 editions of these two cars these are very nice as well.  I like the grille and taillight treatment and colors of the DeSoto best.

I picked the Chrysler. The grill is less busy and the taillights are more artistic than Desoto. I can only recall seeing one of each of these in my hometown. Both were on their last legs.  The Chrysler was traded in for a more a modern one and the Desoto was being used as a work car for a man who worked in strip mining so it was a mess. Funny now that I think about it the Desoto held up for about 15 years.

DeSoto. The styling works better with the body shape, especially the bumper which is so big on the Chrysler.

The 1956 DeSoto is one of my favorite 1950s American cars.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

DeSoto for the less bulky front bumper. Otherwise it'd been a tie. The senior Chrysler would have benefited from the trimmer 300 front bumper. JMHO though. 😁

The DeSoto is the sentimental favorite, as my Dad had one and as a 12 year old kid in 1963, I'd sit behind the steering wheel staring at the incredibly beautiful dashboard.  Plus in hindsight, I think it is the best looking DeSoto of the 50's decade.  I do like the Chrysler too, but today by the thinnest of margins, I vote DESOTO!

Neither car does anything for me, though I do have to give the DeSoto points for color combo.  But, I do have to applaud your efforts once again, John, for another interesting comparison.

Both are quite attractive to me but I prefer the DeSoto overall.

Both perfect representations of Chrysler's "New Look" and I'd love either in my driveway. As already mentioned however, the Chrysler's clunky front bumper is a bit more distracting and since the DeSoto has a perfect overall look and those colors are DDG, DeSoto for me.

I like them both, so a tie for me on this pairing.

DeSoto is my pick too and for the reasons stated by other Forum members.
