In convertible form, in that color combo and with those wheels, De Soto !! Pontiac is also gorgeous but I'll take the De Soto today and thank you John!

Pontiac gets the nod easily today.  I am a dedicated Pontiac fan and love the styling of this year; even though it looks  a bit dated beside the DeSoto.  I LOVE the '55 and '56 DeSoto but not so much the '57 and '58.

Too close to call, I love them both! If the DeSoto had the single headlights It would have won.

Tie today.

DESOTO!  I really surprised myself voting for the DeSoto.

I've always loved the '57 Pontiac since a neighbor when I was a kid at a red over white convertible.  I remember fondly watching him washing and waxing it in his driveway.  I also liked it because even though it appeared dated in styling, overall it was 100% improved styling over the previous two years.

The DeSoto admittedly hasn't always looked right to my eyes since the drop-dead gorgeous '55's and '56's, and when I'd see the '57 DeSoto next to a '57 Chrysler, the latter just seemed to have figured the styling for that year right and it's my favorite Chrysler of the fifties decade.

However this morning seeing the '57 DeSoto together with the 57 Pontiac, I immediately was drawn to the more modern looking DeSoto.  It appears to have a forward moving looking and those fins and taillights sell it for me.

The Pontiac is an impressive looking car, but I really preferred the style of the '55 & '56 over the '57. When you compare these two, the DeSoto is by far the more modern looking. It's hard to believe that, looking at this gorgeous car, that DeSoto will be gone in a few more short years.

So, with that, the DeSoto gets my vote today.

I like the lithe, lean look of the Bonneville today.

They are both good-looking automobiles and would love driving either one, especially back in the day ......although I would get stopped and pulled over by the police since I was only 4 years old back then !

Any car looks better with wire wheels, but Pontiac still wins this one, for me.
