Fifty-Nine was not my favorite automotive year.  By the whisper of a whisker - I vote Oldsmobile.

For sentimental reasons, the Oldsmobile. Even though he never owned one, my Dad's all-time favorite car was the '59 Olds.

Excellent comparo, these two were definitely competing for the same customer in 1959!

Oldsmobile for me. I especially like the fins.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Olds styling wins this time easily; not a fan of this era Merc.

I didn't even have to see the pics to vote on this one!  OLDSMOBILE all the way!  The Mercury looks like a train wreck.  Nothing on it flows well no matter how you look at it.

I have 1/18 SunStar Platinum Edition diecast models of each of these 1959 beauties and love each one in replica and real form.

They are incredibly cool cars and make superb diecasts to display and look at. True mid-century spaceships !

Not my favourite year. A friend had that Oldsmobile and what I remember most about it other than the bouncy soft ride was the massive distortion in the outer edges of the front window. A great disappointment for such a nice looking car. The Mercury was not as pretty but overall a better vehicle in my opinion.
