1) MERCURY  2) Continental  3) Ford  4) Edsel

Was Continental a separate make from Lincoln in '59?

Hi George.  In 1959, there were two Lincoln models:  The cheaper Premier, and the more expensive Continental Mark IV.  Continental was not a separate division, it was absorbed into Lincoln in 1958, but the Continental Mark series lived on until from 1958 to 1960 as the Mark III, IV, and V respectively.  The Mark series was revived again in 1969 with Mark III, leaving the original Mark III, IV, and V mostly forgotten to history.

Ford by a mile, then Edsel, with Lincoln and Mercury trailing.

Thank you Pete!  After I posted the question, I realized I could have just went to my car files, but was too lazy to do so I guess.  None the less, I appreciate your taking the time to share the Continental story with me.
