Although most dislike the Continental's sculpted body sides, I like it. Totally different and it helps break up the long styling lines. But I never really cared for the cut-back rear roofline.
The Imperial is true to its design heritage but, once again, I'm not a fan of the rear roofline.
Going with a tie on this one.
Without hesitation the Continental with it's breezeway back window. For 1959 the big three all showed off their ideas of fifties excess and to my eye the Lincoln did it best.
Imperial for me. Neither are oil paintings, but I recall that Chrysler corporation went all out to make the Imperial as luxurious as anything.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I'm going with a tie also. After buying a GLM 59 Continental I gained a whole new respect for the design. Still love the Imperial.
Neither car will ever get me to walk up to it and give it a second look. The first look is scary enough. And General Motor's Cadillac for '59 wasn't any better. If all three companies set out to create ugly cars, they succeeded.

I went with the Imperial. The Continental just look long and bulky.
If it was the shoulder years my choice would easily be for the Imperial but that grille in '59....yuk! The Lincoln (aka Lobster Boy...lol) gets the nod today but neither car excites me.
It was almost a tie for me too but I went with the Continental because that's the one that I would like to be seen driving. That and I'm thinking how many friends could I smuggle into the drive-in in that trunk 👍
@100ford2003 I’m fairly certain that those Lincoln trunks had seen their fair share of bodies! (Mi scuci Amico!)
Never cared for these two. No interest vote is a first for me.
