I do not care for the Ford for 1960. I never warmed up to the Plymouth for that year either. Soooooooo
Ford, Plymouth, Chevy.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Ford. I liked the line that curved from the lower front end and trailed all the way to the rear. I had friends who had the '59 and the '60 Chevy and it was nice, but I like the Ford best. The Plymouth doesn't do anything for me.
I love the Ford and Chevy, a near tie for me, but after looking at other photos of the two, it’s a slight edge to the Ford.
The Plymouth is a curiosity, but looks so rooted in the 50s and the other two cars way more modern styling has it beat easily.

In the exact order as pictured for me. The Chevy and Ford almost a tie as I love both, the Plymouth, not so much, after the beautiful '59.
I picked the Chevy as number one, with Ford so closely behind, color of the car could change my mind.
I had to wrestle with this one and my brain was exercised by it.
The Chevy was a carryover style from the previous '59, and in my opinion, not a good one. The beautiful "cats-eye" taillights of the '59 were replaced on the'60 with an "instrument panel" like plate with three lights on it. And with the flat grille, it looks shaved to me.
The '60 Plymouth basically was completely changed in appearance from the '59, but in being so, was completely overstated with the high fins, the strange cut-out panel on the front fender, seaming to say, "look at me" because "I'm different".
Finally with the Ford, it was all new from the previous '59 and to my eyes much improved. But that said, only for the top-of-the-line models of the car as in the pictured Sunliner. What I missed most about the '60 Ford was the "trademark" round taillights.
So these reasons stated for the Big Three's entry-level cars, I voted and ranked them this way: 1) FORD 2) Plymouth 3) Chevy.
I think though in 1960 I'd have chosen these cars from the Big Three: Mercury, Chrysler, and Buick, as each were the only three cars for 1960 that my eyes liked.

I like the Impala and Ford almost the same; I've warmed up to the Ford design considerably in recent years. I actually prefer the '60 Impala over the '59 but like them both very much. The Plymouth is a mess this year IMHO; the worst looking Plymouth since post war. To sum up it's Chevy for the win by a slim margin.
Ford, Chevrolet.......Plymouth

Biggest improvement to me was Chevrolet. I did not mind Ford. Plymouth was just plain ugly.
