I love both, but the Cadillac is more modern and is more successful at reading the zeitgeist, while the Imperial is neutered from 1961. Cadillac wins.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Once again, a choice of huge boats, John, where I prefer something much smaller. Still, I find that Imperial an impressive beast.
Both cars are very nice looking but the Cadillac is simply gorgeous and unbeatable in its class this year; my fave Cadillac.
I simply LOVE that Caddy. But chances are, you'll see 10 or 12 to every Imperial out there. The Imperial was sculpted beyond its time in 1962 = I'll take it please.
Similar to Cousin Chrysler, shaving down the fins but keeping the rest of the '61 styling intact resulted in a better looking Imperial for '62. "America's Most Carefully Built Car" gets my vote!

Chrysler very first shot at the neo-classic look that would dominate the mid-seventies. I'll take the Imperial just to get those magnificent headlights.

Close here but no cigar.... My heart is won by that Imperial. Caddy's, as noted, are practically a dime a dozen.
Love both but the 62 Cadillac is my favorite post war Caddie. Cadillac is my pick but if I were offered a 62 Imperial, it would be in my garage.
CADILLAC for me! I never appreciated the "OMG, we forgot the headlights and taillights" that were offered up by the Imperial's. Cadillac was looking really classy and rich after their elephant debacle's for '59 and '60. This one for me was a no-brainer.

LOL, read my comment above regarding "those magnificent headlights" as you refer to them.

Going with the Cadillac, but I love the Imperial too!
