Ohhh John!! This is just downright diabolical! Like asking someone which of his children is his favorite! Oh, man........Coupe-wise: Split Window. Were it the convertible - Jag. But here, I vote Vette.
Vette for reliability, although the XKE is even more beautiful.

John, I'm beginning to believe you have a dark side, a very dark side. Why would you perpetrate this unique anguish upon us? 😱
LOL! Superb comparo! I reluctantly vote for the Corvette as I am hesitant to decide.

I voted Corvette but don’t ask me to justify it against that beautiful Jag. 🥴

Voted Vette, looks better to me. The Jag is noted for it's non-reliability.
I chose the Vette also for the same reasons that Ed and Brush mentioned but there's no denying that the XKE is Drop Dead Gorgeous !
Nasty, John! My favourite Corvette against the Jaguar E-Type is not playing fair. Jaguar for me as I have driven both and know which is most fun to drive.
@david-green Years ago a mechanical genius friend of mine slipped a ‘65 L79 engine into a ‘64 XKE convertible that he got dirt cheap because of a blown (beyond repair) engine. Best of both worlds!
Not even a tiny speck of interest in either.

I vote the Vette, the Jaguar is a beautifully styled car but it always looked "fragile" to me...like a slight parking "tap" on the bumper would cause major damage. (Those of us who grew up in NYC know what I mean by a parking "tap"!)

Having recently driven a friend's 63 split window, I vote for the Jag. Come to think about it, I'll take the Vet and then sell it and buy the Jag and still have plenty of money left over for the repairs.
@bob-jackman, I hear ya! I had a '72 XKE. It was stunningly beautiful and an absolute joy to drive. But it would have been exponentially better if it had been reliable!

The Jag is one car I prefer the convertible version. I voted for the hardtop Corvette.
