To my eye, the Malibu has a cleaner, more cohesive styling line. I wouldn't turn my nose up at the Fairlane but the Chevelle is just cooler.

I agree the Chevelle is cleaner, but I always found them to be bland. Ford for me.

I much prefer the styling of the Chevelle in '65.  Although the shoulder years of the Fairlane are really attractive this year seemed a bit plain.  It was a one year only design that was very different from earlier and later years.

Fairlane one year design that I did not care for, '63, '64, '66 - '69 alright.  Chevelles the only ones I liked were '66 & '67 & '70.

So today I am tempted to call it a tie, but the Chevy does look a bit better than the Ford. CHEVY.

@brush Bruce, I agree with your thoughts. Chevy by a slight margin.

I do not care for either.  Now if it was a Impala that was getting my nod.  I voted a tie.

Had a few 1960s Chevelle. Loved them all.

Both distinctly "functional" rather than stylish. The Ford is just an innoffensive tin box that says the owner is interested in basic transportation rather than image (very sensible, of course, but not very exciting).  The Chevelle has at least a vague hint of shapeliness about it (all things being relative) so I give it a narrow win, but I am not trembling with excitement as I speak.
