Since I enjoyed owning mine (1966 version) I voted Cyclone GT 390.

Mercury for me in 67.  Have to wait for 68 for the Charger. 👀🤓👍

To my eye, the Charger's styling stands out while the Mercury looks like a generic mid-sized 2-door hardtop.

I loved the look of the first Charger body style and still do; although it was definitely eclipsed by the stunning '68.  I like the Comet and find it to be a styling improvement on the '66 but the Charger beats it easily IMHO.

This is another really tough one for me. I've always liked the Charger. I vividly remember how radical it was when it was first introduced, and I love the four-bucket interior. But, the Cyclone was a well-rounded package. With the 390, it was a stormer that never really got the recognition it deserved. It also had a gorgeous interior. I've never voted a tie before. I almost did for this one. But, in this case, it got down to the colors! The color of the Charger is only "Meh" for me. I love the colors on the cyclone. It gets my vote.

Are you saying we should be choosing the pictures only?  I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS ALL WRONG. Up until now I judge the make & model, the color or the wheels or add ons or drive trains have made no difference.  I have said this before and nobody correted me, we are supposed to be judging the pictures, OK.

By the pictures I choose the Comet, by the model car I choose the Charger [color]???

18 66 Charger 1986 1999 (2)
18 66 Charger 1986 1999 (1)
18 66 Charger 1986 1999 (3)
18 66 Charger 1986 1999 (4)
18 66 Charger 1986 1999 (5)

My '66 with 32,000 miles on it when I sold it in 1999, pure stock 383 auto 3:23 sure grip. The lights worked but I left them open most of the time.

The Charger for me all the way.  It is my favorite of the Chargers with the fastback roof line and the interior of a more expensive car.  I have been looking for a decent 1:1 for a number of years, to add to my fleet at a reasonable price.  Missed out on a few, but one day I will get one.

I've always been fond of the Mercury and Ford intermediates of this generation because of their size and proportions, so I voted for the Mercury. The Charger suffers in comparison to its next year namesake.

IMO the interior of the Charger is to kill for. For the exterior,  the Mercury takes it. I have always thought the Charger body was way too long. Mercury.

Same as the Rambler Marlin. Both of those fastbacks should have been built on a compact platform, not an intermediate.

As I previously stated there is no right or wrong way to choose a car in the "Which Series". Just pick the car you like best for whatever reason.
