I prefer the blade fenders and chrome sweep of the 1963. It looks more dynamic to me.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I like both a lot, but as you know I won't vote a tie, as that is like kissing my sister. It's the '63 for me because I owned a Holiday 88 Hardtop in that exact same color. Loved it!
Here's a family story and a hard lesson learned by me.
When I owned my '63 Oldsmobile, when my 19 year old sister who was pregnant and just married to the 18 year old father of the baby to be. So they don't have a car and I had use of my Dad's car at the time if I needed it, so I agreed to let my sister and her husband use my car.
My Dad tells me that it might be a good idea while they're driving my car that I probably should "sign the title" over to them, so that if there was an accident, I'd not be responsible in any way. Hey, I'm only 21 years old myself, so what do I know. You guessed it, I signed the title over to them.
Three weeks after this transaction, I'm visiting them, but I don't see MY car in the parking lot of their apartment building. I ask them, where's the car? They tell me, "We sold it because we needed the money". Of course I responded with a loud, "WHAT?!", and then I say, "You can't sell it, it's MY CAR!".
My sister heartlessly says, "no, you signed it over to us!". Needless to say, we didn't talk for quite awhile. I never lifted a finger to help them ever again! They got divorced 8 years later with two more kids, no jobs, and infidelity.
I loved that Olds!

The side trim on the '63 makes it the winner for me.
That's quite a story, George. If that happened to me I STILL wouldn't be talking to her !

I like the 64 best, to me its design is much better than the 63.

I prefer the '64. The brushed aluminum moldings on the '63 look tacked on and gives the car
a "tall' appearance to me. The '64 looks more refined. I like the sculpted hood, and the heavy wheel arch and rocker moldings, plus the revised rear end, gives the '64 a lower, longer, and wider look. And, it's got those cool stars on the tail lights and front grill!
It's a hard call. I agree with Pete that the aluminium side moulding gives the body a tall appearance and yet I like its sporty value. The '63 rear end treatment I find more interesting too, but have always had concerns over the curious creases from the leading edge of the front fender, back toward the headlamps. So I go for classic '64 or irritating anomaly '63 and of course, the irritating anomaly always wins.
@brush, I too, prefer the 1962 Oldsmobile over both the '63 and '64, but like them all. The '62 was (in my opinion) the most gorgeously styled Oldsmobile of the 1960's. I owned a '62 Starfire Hardtop (Maroon) and it forever my favorite car that I've owned.

My sister and I have had a strained relationship for most our lives. Her life has been a soap-opera forever, and most of her drama is self-imposed.

63 For me but I like both. I like the brushed aluminum side trim as it carries on the Starfire theme although it was eliminated after that.
