I first voted a tie and can't change it. So, it still stands. But, in thinking more about it, I lean toward the '56. I love 'em both. But the '55 has just a bit too much ornamentation compared to the original and that '56 is simply iconic. I find it amazing that the original 1953 design was so enduring and went through two incredible and beautiful re-designs.

I voted for the '56. The lines of the '55 are gorgeous but that coarse looking front bumper really detracts.
@jack-dodds, yup! That did it for me. It's great but the front bumper looks like it was tacked on.

I like John's pic, the red Gran Turismo the best of all of them!
I really like Studebakers and both of these look great, however I do prefer the grill treatment on the 1956.
The 56 for design but the 55 for handling. The 56 had the Packard motor which was so heavy the car wouldn't turn so in 57 They went back to the Studebaker motor. 56.
1956 for me too.

Another vote for the '56, for reasons already stated above - the '55 had lost the "purity" of the design that made the '53 so exceptional.

Thankfully the weather is cooperating. Have a fantastic time...I know you will!

Love both! But it's the sleek styling of the '55 that gets my vote.
