@moe-parr I think it was basically the same dismal styling effort that Ford did for the 60 Edsel. Just tart up the Chrysler grille and tail lights and call it a day.
This was really interesting. Given its rich history, it's a shame Chryco didn't develop a distinctly separate styling for DeSoto and perhaps have found a price point, different from the Chrysler, that buyers would be attracted to, in order to save the marque. When you recall some of the clay mock ups that their styling department had created for that era, you would think it could possibly have been achieved.
Great history of DeSoto John. My father-in-law had several until he switched to Chrysler in 1961. Thanks for this.
