I've always appreciated the styling and grace of the Zephyr. The difference between it and the forty-one Ford, however, is negligible to the untrained eye. The Cadillac, on the other hand, is rolling opulence. A statement that it is the top of the GM food chain. Caddy for me please. (Another John B. masterpiece of choice)
For me the just pre-war Cadillacs represent such a styling leap forward that this example consigns the lovely Zephyr to a previous era.

I likely am the odd man out here as I greatly prefer the Lincoln Zephyr.

I'm with David Green on this one.

Sorry, but I have to vote for the LINCOLN. That Caddy is way too big and bulbous looking to my eyes. And yes, I know the Lincoln had the overtures of the '40 Ford, but liking that Ford as I always have, it carries over to the Lincoln for me. I didn't jump on the Cadillac bandwagon until the '54 when between that year and '56, GM got the styling to perfection. After '56, Cadillac really went south in the looks department for many years.

I like the sportier Zepher to the “opulent “ Caddy.

I'll take the "opulent" Cadillac. If you got it flaunt it.

@sizedoesmatter +1. The 41 Cadillac has always been my favorite prewar Cady and its sturdy cast iron V8 was bullet proof compared to the trouble prone V12 in the Lincoln.
@bob-jackman, I didn't know the V12s were trouble prone. What were some of their problems?
