Buick styling by a mile for me.  I love the 49 Mercury but the nose/headlights on the Lincoln detract big time IMHO.

I'm with Jack, but only by a half mile. I've always struggled with the headlights and grille of the Lincoln.

I consider the '49 Buick absolutely top-tier...one of the all-time great styling masterpieces!

I LIKE BOTH!  But I vote for the LINCOLN because of those interesting headlights and the more modern "non-split" windshield.  It looks so much sleeker than the Buick that is bulbous in comparison.

Too funny.  It's the "nose/headlights" that attract me to the Lincoln over the Buick.  So Jack, we can cancel the duel scheduled between us over the two cars.  You can have the Buick, I'll drive happily away in the LINCOLN.  Smile

Lincoln without a doubt.  A family friend had a similar new Lincoln and I loved it!  A neighbor at about the same time swapped his Buick for a new '49 or '50 Packard.  I remember comparing the Packard with the Lincoln.  Oh yes, my dad had a Chevy.
