I’ll go with the Lincoln, you don’t see many of them around.

Lincoln. Tough enough for the Carrera Panamerica, and with more horsepower than 1952. Love those fake vents on the rear fenders too.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Mercury please.  Just prefer the styling.  For ride & comfort can't beat the Lincoln, which should be there considering price point.

Both are great cars and I am hard pressed to choose between them. A tie this time John.

Mercury styling for me.  The 53 is my favorite Mercury and I am not a fan of the plucked eyelash look of the Lincoln.

The Mercury.  I never cared for the front styling of the '52-'54 Lincolns. To me, the non-hooded headlights impart a "bug-eyed" look.  I'm partial to the '53 Mercury for an additional reason.  A Yosemite Yellow Monterey sedan exactly like this one was the family car when I was but a young'un:

There's always a first.  And this is the first time I've voted a TIE.  I love the '53 Lincoln's and Mercury's equally.

Lincoln, but I'm not sure why.  If I remember 1953 correctly, it was a year when none of the cars seemed really new.  Now 1954 was different!
