The Imperial is amazing, the Lincoln has to be embarrassed being beside it. Not that there’s anything necessarily wrong with the Lincoln, it’s just worlds apart in the styling department!
The Imperial looks elegant and classy while the Lincoln is a ruination of the gorgeous styling of the '56.
Not my favorite year of either car. That's what makes this so tough and John so dang good at these comparisons. Speaking just to the Lincoln; everyone seems to love the fifty-six and hate the fifty-seven.
The 1956 Premiere is my favorite as well. But instead of hating the '57, I love it. Not as much as the '56 but in a different way, I admire its looks for that year. Fins were higher overall on all cars and they looked a little more aggressive. That's the Premiere too. I'll stick up for the down trodden Linc - one vote please John!
Chrysler threw money at the 1957 Imperial and it shows in its luxury and style. Meanwhile Lincoln messed up the 1957. Imperial it is.

The Lincoln does not deserve all this hate. I'm with Tony on this one. To me the '57 Lincoln is a '56 with a tasteful fin added in keeping with the trend of the time period. Not my favorite year of either car. Yes sir. I look at it much the same as the first T-Birds of the same era John. The '55 is killer. Same for the '56 except for the rear-heavy Continental kit. A total departure for the '57 with its fins but many people prefer the '57 to '55 or '56. Lead on John! The Lincoln does not deserve all this hate. I'm with Tony on this one. I don't have any qualms with either, but if I had my choice of one to "pimp" around in, lol. It'd be the Imperial. And yes, I prefer the '56 models on both.😁
For a rare time, I vote NO INTEREST in either. Give me either of these cars in 1956 version, but for '57 both lost their appeal. The Imperial doesn't flow well at all front to back and the Lincoln is ruined with those horrific fins. Yup, NO INTEREST!

@georgeschire I know I’m obsessed with old TV shows, but who wasn’t impressed by Theodore’s Uncle Billy and his Imperial?
(Even if it has way too many doors). To me it was a beautiful weirdness, even more so than the more mundane Dodge and Plymouth family cars. And who can forget Perry Mason’s drop-top Lincoln?
You can almost see the Batmobile hiding in there!
Yes Kevins, I do see hints of the Batmobile in the '57 Lincoln. However just for clarification, the BATMOBILE was actually created from the '55 Lincoln Futura "concept" car. Who could have guessed at the time, that it would become the most famous and most recognizable TV car of all time.

I'm a '57 Lincoln fan as well. I'll take mine in a light pastel color with a white interior. The designs for the Imperial after '56 never got my blood boiling.
