@sizedoesmatter No, no John... I was referring to the 1958 Ford, which is wearing '57 wheelcovers. The Edsel part is in parentheses; I was speaking parenthetically.
@perrone1 Correct, I was referring to the Ford, not the Edsel. John misread my post.
I'm usually in the minority here on the Forum when applaud any '58 car. I thought Ford Motor Company hit two three home runs with their Ford, Edsel, and Mercury. To my eyes the Ford for '58 was miles ahead in styling after the dismal looking '57 and certainly better looking than the '59 Ford. As for the Edsel for '58, it is a beauty beyond beautiful and has always been a design that I think was then, and has proved still today to be innovative. And the Mercury was an unmatched design that has always been a favorite. Of the two selections today, I'm voting a rare TIE.

@geno Funny you mention that....
Most disliked the '58 because it "stepped away" from the traditional round taillight look and thus, it quickly returned in '59.
Furthermore, because 1960 Fords were ALL new, "the finest Fords of a lifetime," MNGMNT wanted a fresh look - without round taillights - but designers still wanted them. So... a compromise was reached that few ever notice.
Look closely, do you see "round taillights?" Notice the "bottom half of the taillights" stamped into the bumper?
More than one 1960 Ford owner purchased aftermarket lens kits (they may have been a dealer option too ) to recreate the look of round taillights. In 1961, of course, designers got their way and big round taillights returned.
....and now you know "the rest of the story." 😉
Tie. The Edsel is so ugly iconic ya gotta vote for it. But I like the 1958 Ford better than the 1957. I know I guess I’ll need to get new glasses.
Yes Bob, the Citation has more glitz thus making it more comparable to the Mercury than the Ford, that is why I used the less embellished Pacer.The Ford is my second best favorite from this three year series but the Edsel is my favorite of the three years of it's production. My real favorite is the Citation as it adds more glitz to an already glitzy car.

John, it's a new month and another thank you for these terrific polls is overdue. It's the first thing I look for every morning, and it's how I know what day it is too!
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I voted for the Ford also.

Looks better without the aftermarket kit. The bottom half does not appear to align properly thus creating a distraction instead of round taillights.@geno Funny you mention that....
