Dodge by the proverbial mile.
'50's Fords, the order I put them in: '56, '55, '58, '51, '53,'54, '57, '52, '59, '50.
50's Dodge: '59, '58, '56, '55, '57, '54, '53, '52, '51,'50.
Really don't like the '49 - '52 at all
I'm NOT a Ford guy, BUT for '59 I'll take it over the Dodge. Never liked the roof styling on Dodge or Plymouth from 57 through 59.

Neither are oil paintings, but I'm voting Ford.

Two beautiful cars here. I voted for the Ford, a style I've always enjoyed. IMO, Ford was ahead of its time with a conservative but tasteful design that pointed toward the sixties and the demise of fins and over-adorned chrome. In the day of soaring Cadillac fins, the Ford was a bold statement and paved the way for the design revolution of '60 and '61. The Dodge is spectacular but in a fifties sort of way. It bears the remnant of the fins and ladled-on chrome that characterized that decade. The Dodge is beautiful but does nothing to move automotive design forward. Rather, it relies on the cliches offered up in '55 & '56, just more of them. Chrysler would desperately hold on to those cliches for another two years before going totally off the rails with their mid-market designs. That being said, I'd gladly take either of these!

While I've never been overly excited about fins, I still pick the Dodge over the Ford which I thought was a terrible makeover of the beautiful 57.
OK JK, you convinced me. Ford it is.
It's a no brainer here for me but then again I may not have a lot of gray matter left.
It's the Dodge by a big margin.
I was 6 years old when I first saw this Dodge and I fell in love with it. I love the eyebrows over the headlights. I love the flush door handles. I love the way the fins sweep up. I love the tail lights. I love the sweep of the roof line and I love the angle of the windshield. To me it just puts the Ford to shame.
And BTW, I'm a Fordie..lol

Ford by a mile for me this year. Love its styling, owned one and enjoyed it very much. JK said it best about Ford styling moving forward while Dodge was still very much late 50s.
Well Jack, it was a '59 ! So that does make it late 50s...Duh 😂
In my sophomore, junior & senior year in high school (1963 - 1965) I drove a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 and loved its clean and crisp styling. In 1958 and '59, the car got quad headlights and they rounded the center of the tailfins and, to my eyes, messed with a good thing. I voted Dodge - just out of protest. LOL!!
Not my favorite Ford but more to my taste than the 59 Dodge. 👍

Despite the efforts of the design team, the Dodge comes off as overdone. For me the Ford wins this round.

True enough Steve but Chryco hung onto the traditional late 50s fins the longest of the Big 3 and others (except Cadillac), so looking back on the era they seem a bit "late to the game" to me.
@jack-dodds, I agree. However, after the excesses of 1959 and 1960, Cadillac didn't just hold on to their fins; they settled into vestigial fins that became a nicely executed hallmark of their designs for decades.
