Oh sure John!! It's super easy when given two popular, familiar and gorgeous cars to compare. But give us a lesser popular variety and maybe not the best year of manufacture and what do we have? A lot more fun choosing, actually!
WOW, difficulty level: HIGH!
Love both; hate the T-Bird's color but I'm going with that choice.
Yes Tony, the T-Bird's color is a bit over the top, but I sort of like it.Oh sure John!! It's super easy when given two popular, familiar and gorgeous cars to compare. @sizedoesmatter It would be ideal on a baby bird - 55 or 56 I'm thinking. "Baby Bird Baby Blue".
T-bird if it were a convertible but it is not so today I choose the Studebaker [it's GREEN].
Gran Turismo in this pairing for me. Elegant and restrained.

Well john, you can take the rest of the day off knowing you messed with my mind for a decision. Love the Studebaker for restrained styling and toggle switches dash board and the Thunderbird for it's all out assault on being the ultimate luxury cruiser. The Ultimate cruiser wins this comparison by the smallest of margins.
Well thanks John, you've made this harder than I thought it would be. I'd have liked it if you'd thrown in the Buick Riviera and made it a threesome. Then it would have been easy, I'd have chosen the Riviera. But you didn't do that, so I'm forced to choose between the two you gave us. I don't really care for either one in the styling department, but I don't want to have another "Tie" today, so I've thought it through and decided I'll go with the THUNDERBIRD.

End of an era, I know but that Studebaker was a peppy car to drive. Loved the lines. A friend had one and I drove it on many occasions. Fond memories and my choice here.
Da T-bird by a pube.😁
No contest for me...Studebaker by a huge margin. Although it was from an earlier design era it was still a very attractive and sporty looking hardtop with a look all its own. For me the Thunderbird was ruined after the stunning '61-'63 styling. I even had a black '64 but could not warm up to the bloated look and sold it after just a short time.
I like both...a lot. But, as much as I respect the redo of the design on the GT, for me, it was getting old and had ancient running gear (except for the engine). As superb as Brooks Steven's rework was, with its T-Bird roofline and Lincoln-esque taillights, I found it to be slightly derivative. I've always liked this T-Bird, and the color, despite its lack of any pink accents, just seals my vote today.

Tough choice here John but I'm going with the Studebaker. It has more classic styling for me and still looks fresh to my eyes and in my mind. And I would love to be behind the wheel of it 👍

The end results certainly attest to the difficulty in determining a conclusive winner.
It's the GT for me, but I'll always hold the T-Bird near and dear.
Gents, thanks for your responses!
