John, I love ya like a brother! But you are TOO good at making these choices exceptionally difficult....oh, OK, and FUN!!

I went with the Cuda. The billboard is outlandish and, while on a drive, in-your-face attention grabbing. But once in a while, ya just gotta!!  Cool

I'm not a lime green or billboard guy but that Cuda is a sure winner today.

It seems to me that the billboards look much better when matte black which clashes less with the body color.  Not all would agree I'm sure.....

I'm not a huge fan of this generation Mustang convertible. But I'm an even not huger fan of the Hemi. I know it's legendary. But I've had too much experience with their intractability on the street to want one. Great car to look at but not much fun to drive unless you're at the strip. So I vote for the Stang with the Cobra Jet V8 today.

The fully trimmed/decaled out Mach I is the only Mustang of this era that really grabs me.  The '69 was by far the best Mach I IMHO.

Going with the Ford Pony today.  Both would set a pretty good pace cruising on the Mass Turnpike back in 71.  ✌️

Had the 'Cuda been a '70, it would have gotten my vote. Then again, if it was up against the 1970 Mustang, I'd have to vote a tie.

The 1971 'Cuda's facelift with all those vents, louvers, spoilers, and decals make the 1971 Mustang the winner today.

@ed-glorius Ed;  I have never been a fan of the louvered rear window on any of the muscle/pony cars.

@jack-dodds

Ditto. Only the Lamborghini Miura can get away with it.

The  broad-shouldered, muscular looking Cuda for me.

I like the 71 Cuda a little more than the 71 Mustang.

Love the Cuda for all the reasons other people dislike it, billboards in black only, quad head lights, louver like grill, and slime green color is good. The only change I would like is a 440x6 instead of the hemi.

26 Cuda 71 (4)
26 Cuda 71 (2)
26 Cuda 71 (1)

After '70 I dislike the styling of the Mustangs. Mustang '68 or '69 please.
