The '41 Cadillac was the epitome of GM's styling and mechanical leadership. Packard had tarnished their fine product with the lower lines of 120 and 110 models, Lincoln had come on strong with their Continental coupe but their sedans were hohum, and Chrysler's Imperial was still another Chrysler. The Cadillac of '41 and its brief '42 successor set the stage for their rise to dominance after the war's end. (I still prefer the Packard.)
Like David, I choose the 1941 Cadillac which to me was a well executed design both mechanically and in style.
I went with the 49 as opposed the more bloated 53. That 41 is pretty special pre war.

The '49 for me. I have one just like the one shown in 1/24 in my display case!

I stepped out of my box and chose the '41. It is an incredible beauty. I like the other two years as well, but that '41 knocks them both out of the water.

Arguably 1949 is when Cadillac really was better than anything else in its field. Beautiful, revolutionary, bestowed with a new engine, and style setting the tone for years to come.

I echo Ed's comments. The '49 is my easy choice; followed by the '53 then the 41.
The '41 is my #1 pick, closely followed by the '49. The '53 is nice but nothing to get excited about.
