1959. The 1960 is a bit too plain.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Agreed. When I was growing up a neighbor down the road had a 60 wagon that was really plain looking.

Dang it, I saw Pontiac and started salivating, lol. I was in such a hurry to hit tie, as I love both, and accidentally hit the '60.🥴😲😁

The ‘59 is my choice too for the reasons above. I feel the same about the ‘59-60 Chevy.

Really Geno, a tie ?  That kind of surprises me as I think the ‘59 can’t be beat. Just look at that beautiful front end and the way the body is styled with just the right amount of stainless trim…👍 But then again i should remember that you’ve probably never met a Pontiac that you didn’t like 😂

My family owned the 1959. It was not a trouble free vehicle. That bias likely made me choose the 1960.

The twin grilles on the '59 Pontiac are really dramatic, they almost look like they are stretching out to infinity on either side, which makes for an all-time classic piece of front-end styling (the rest of the body isn't half bad either).

GM's 1960 retreat from the excesses of '59 is understandable, up to a point, but Pontiac in particular took it too far. Several years too far. Almost a parody of some of the more conservative nose jobs of the early to mid-50s. I know some people like it as much as the '59 (or even more), and maybe it actually looked cleaner and fresher in the metal than it does in pictures, but I've never figured out its appeal. Dull, dull, DULL. Sorry.

1959 by a huge margin today.

No interest. The first Pontiac I like is the 1961.

I had to think carefully. My first reaction was to vote for the '59. But after looking closely, I like the straighter, and, to me, smoother lines of the 60, particularly the rear quarters. It probably helps that I had a friend with a '60 Bonneville that had a Tri-Power 389 and a 4-speed. It was an uber rare combination, and he drove it into the ground! 😰

Preferred the '60 until about 40 years and slowly switched to the '59.

Pontiac styling:

'56 & before I did not care for them

'57 to '60 I liked them

'61 to '64 I loved them

'65 & newer I don't care for them

Today I vote '59

My favorite family car growing up was our ‘60 Tri-Power Ventura. Dad was the original “Car Guy”, and was the town’s shade tree mechanic. He would take my late brother and me to the local stock car races almost every week and would kick in the trips for us on the way back. Actually anytime Mom wasn’t in the car we could be expected to be thrown back in our seats at any time! The car was very sleek and understated, the tri-color , almost metallic interior was gorgeous, and I have a lot of great memories in that car. Having said all of that, I’ve grown with time to appreciate the sheer over the top audacity and beauty of the ‘59, a much more interesting design to my eyes. However, If I had the means to own a Pontiac from that era it would definitely be a ‘61 Ventura, one of my favorite cars of all time! Gotta be a tie for me.
