Both are gorgeous American luxury liners ! I have replicas of each in scale and one of the first automobiles I can remember, is being very little and playing with the spring-loaded trunk latch on my Grandfather's 1949 Lincoln.
Cadillac by a landslide! Its styling is sleek and classy but to my eye the Lincoln is the exact opposite. I never warmed up to it in the least although I must say that I LOVE the '49 Mercury.
Tie. The Cadillac because the styling was moving forward In to the 50s with the small fins. The Lincoln for its bathtub smooth rounded style although one would think a Lincoln could be dressed up some more. It is almost plain.
The Lincoln is a cool-looking bathtub on wheels. High society styling of the forties. The Cadillac, on the other hand, appears to be well into the styling of the future (50's) with its areo-bomber tailfins, lower chrome side strakes front and rear. And, OMG, that grille! Totally iconic - I go with the Caddy Series 62 and THANK YOU John!
Slam dunk for the Cadillac, perhaps the best car of its time.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Cadillac for being a true hardtop and it's drive train. I seem to like the Lincoln than most here just not enough to beat out the Caddy.
Caddy please, the pouty face of the Lincoln doesn't cut it. The Merc for '49 looks classier.
For me I prefer the Lincoln. It reminds me a bit of the Packards with their smooth side and rolled fenders.
No contest! LINCOLN! It looks modern, it's lower, and sleeker. And I love those headlights and the NON-SPLIT windshield.

I have a slight preference for the Cadillac looks although I almost picked a tie. If the Packard from that year had been added as a choice, I would have picked it.
Don't care for luxury cars to start and these two do nothing for me. No interest today.
Cadillac. The designer of the Lincoln appears to have fallen in love with a Hudson at some time in his career.
@whodeytink Caddy without a doubt! I’m sure the Lincoln is a fine automobile, but the styling, at least to me, looks like a mid fifty’s bumper car with a lid.
