I have come to appreciate the Edsel much more in recent years but the Dodge, with its wild rear quarters is the epitome of late 50s styling. I vote Dodge.
A difficult choice but I vote Dodge.
I guess my mind STILL works like it did when I was a pre-teen in 1958 - The Edsel hurts my feelings. The Dodge was cool back then, and apparently - STILL is. Dodge for the win today.
Dodge for me too. Love its exuberant looks.

I voted for the Edsel. It is just different enough to be interesting.

Dodge please. One of the very few '58's worth looking at.
The Edsel was kind of odd but interesting and "historically significant" (for better or worse!). The Dodge is OK, but I'll go for the Edsel.
If it had been a choice between the 1959 versions, for me the Dodge was more attractive than the '58 and the Edsel was seriously changed for the worse, so my choice would be reversed.

I like the Edsels I have seen in person......their dashboards are interesting. However, there wasn't an Edsel built that I'd prefer to a same-year 'Forward Look' offering. Checkmark for Dodge!
Dodge for me too for all the above stated opinions.

This one is so easy for me. As loud as I can shout it, I VOTE EDSEL! It might be my favorite Big Three car of 1958. Odd looking, but interesting. Innovative styling set it apart from any other brand that year. This might have been a contest had the Edsel been up against another '58, but not against the Dodge! I've always been turned off by Dodge for '58 (and the '57 too). I'd go so far as to say that of all the '58 Big Three cars, Dodge is at the bottom of my list.

The '58 Dodge was nothing more than a '57 Dodge with some insignificant changes, while the Edsel was a whole new car. I love the styling on the '58 Edsel.

Really garish choices here. I go for the Edsel more because of its unique place in automotive history.
