I did not include the Corvette it is a Chevrolet and I considered including it would make a double Chevy in the contest, while every other division did not have a sports car n the poll.

For those who say the Corvette doesn't belong, your absolutely correct.  I included the Corvette to add some spark to a series that's well past it's shelve life.  It may be time to close the lid on this.

1) BUICK  2) OLDSMOBILE  3) PONTIAC  4) CHEVROLET  5) CADILLAC

This has been discussed often with different opinions shared.  For me, the GM '59 line-up of cars was one of their most successful styling years.  Each brand had an identity to it and boasted that they'd left any stodgy looking  mid-fifties or forties car behind them.  They were space age designed that shouted future very loudly.

And as always, I'll accept that I'm in the minority with not even considering the Corvette a car and certainly not one that belongs with this elite group.  Sorry.

Your so right George, the Corvette is not a car, it's an American Icon and a lifestyle.

John, right you are.

I will dare say though that the "lifestyle" is only enjoyed by a select few who truly can afford it.  And sadly, some who can't afford it too.

What I personally see with both these scenario's is for those that can afford it, they sometimes use the car to flaunt that they can.  And on the other side of the coin, there are those who can't afford it, but will get one to impress people that they are better off than they are.

Bottom line in both scenario's, the car garners attention to people.  And to some, it is important for them to be noticed, the Corvette provides that.  I have these viewpoints from what I witnessed working in the lending industry for 30+ years.  I saw both these scenarios often.

George, first off there are various price points within the corvette market, not all are for the select few. That being said, your response can be applied to just about anything attractive with the same result. Replace "Corvette" with a house, a watch, cars, shoes, a suit of clothes, even Oldsmobiles. It's all about how people behave...some behave properly and some do not.

@sizedoesmatter, I know this is a lot of work. But for every person who has a critique, look at the number of likes and votes and see all those who deeply appreciate your daily posts. As far as I'm concerned, you can put any cars you like in the comparo. I'll vote for everyone! For those who take exceptions, I would invite them to post their own ideas daily for several years and then see how well-received their posts are.

@sizedoesmatter Very well said John B. If I were to try and buy my 61 Corvette today, I'm not sure I could afford it. Please consider that the car was not in this condition when I bought it and the time and money I have spent on it over the years to make it what it is today. The value of things is never a one price fits all things as was stated above.

..."Close the lid on this."

God knows, you're certainly entitled to. Each day, you choose a well-thought out, well planned exercise that we all look forward to in a challenge to determine which car we would choose to own or just like better than the next. You categorize the choices, pick out flattering photos, make the choices as comparable as humanly possible and even get the colors the same between contestants, when available. That's a bunch of work for the compensation you draw. What's that? You do it gratis? Well then, I certainly can't blame you.

Just know, John, that the vast majority of us love and appreciate the camaraderie and fun that your every day endeavors provide for the forum. I hope you reconsider for those of us who are in that group of appreciative fans of yours!
