'55 or '56 Mercury?

I prefer the 55 for the cleaner looks but the 56 For it's 12 volt electrical system. 56 by a hair.

Based on styling, it's the '55 for me. I prefer the 2- tone paint scheme to the '56's, and also the side chrome trim and location of the front-fender "medallion".
Bob is right, though, about the upgraded electrical system in the '56. Regardless, I voted for the '55.

Very close but the 1955 just seems to flow more with cleaner lines. The 1956 was certainly an improvement electrically.

I've always preferred the '55 Mercury over the '56, and for Ford those same years, it's the opposite. I prefer the '56 Ford over the '55.

1955 for me too as I agree it looks cleaner.

Grille, side trim, spinner caps on the ‘56 look much better to me.

Tough call but it's the '55 for me, prefer the straight lines and I don't see the 6 volt system as a liability. Love the '56 too.
