Tough choice, but I went with the more restrained and slightly smaller 1964.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Both are nice but the 64 is fantastic.

No contest for me, I love the '64.  Liked the '57 to '60, loved the '61 to '64, after that I did not care for Pontiac styling.

In Grand Prix  form I prefer the '64.  The grille and roof design of the '65 GP detract from its appearance compared to the Catalina.

The Pontiac Catalina comparison (below) however, tips the scales in favor of the '65 by  a slim margin.

As much as I like the '64, the '65 is way better.

I'd take either in a heartbeat, but if I get to choose which one I get, it's the '64.  The '65 is a little Barge like, while the '64 seems a little more cozy and personal in appearance.

restrained

Yes! That's the perfect word to describe why I also prefer the styling of the '64.

The '64 for me too. I agree with all the above comments about it.

The 65 for me just for the aerodynamic look.  Plus the grille is nicer
